English as the Compulsory Subject at the undergraduate course has been taught by the department since June, 2009. Specialization in English has been commenced from 2012-2013. The staff of the department is highly qualified and experienced. Faculty of the Department is devoted to quality teaching and research. Extra care is taken to pay individual attention to the weak students in their lecture sessions. The department has been trying to give updated knowledge by using modern technologies such as online teaching, e-books, PPTs, audio-video sessions and language lab.
OBJECTIVE
1. To expose students to the best examples of literature in English and to contribute to their emotional quotient as well as independent thinking
2. To instill universal human values through best pieces of literature in English.
3. To enhance employability of the students by developing their basic soft skills, life skills as well as communication skills for their overall personality development.
4. To revise and reinforce the learning of some important areas of Grammar for better linguistic competence.
5 .To prepare students for university examination, competitive examination and other applied courses.
